What is a Statin?

Statins are a type of Medication used to Lower Cholesterol Levels. They are one of the most widely prescribed medications in the world, and they are generally "considered to be safe and effective." However, there is growing evidence that Statins may have some Harmful Side Effects, including brain damage.

Did You Say Brain Damage?

You bet. Multiple Studies have come out pointing to Statins Decreasing the
amount of Blood to the Brain and even a Decrease in Size of the Brain.

  • One study, published in the journal Neurology, found that people who took Statins for more than five years were more likely to experience Brain Atrophy, or shrinkage. The study also found that Statins were associated with a higher risk of Dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
